With a history of 51 years, China's grasscloth wallpaper craft originated in Nantang Village, Huxi Town, Dongyang City. In 1972, under the leadership of then village Party secretary Zhang Guangcai, the Nantang Village Wallpaper Factory was established as a collective enterprise.
Zhang Liyun, the eldest son of Zhang Guangcai, founded the "Dongyang Sanyi Wallpaper Factory" in 1988 with his father's support. In 1990, he went on to establish the Sino-foreign joint venture "Zhejiang Zhicheng Art Grasscloth Wallpaper Co., Ltd." Introducing modern corporate management practices, he instilled in employees the spirit of craftsmanship, demanding meticulous attention to every detail in the grasscloth wallpaper-making process.
